Trail575 was created to merge two things that we love: nature and haiku. We seek inspiration for different scents along each trail explored, shared adventure and laughter with friends, and translate these moments into scented candles that are described by haiku.
We love how haikus succinctly capture the brevity of moments using colorful imagery. So what’s a haiku? “A traditional Japanese haiku is a three-line poem with seventeen syllables, written in a 5/7/5 syllable count. Often focusing on images from nature, haiku emphasizes simplicity, intensity, and directness of expression” poets.org
We’re a small business operating out of our studio in Berkeley, California, where we hand pour our candles in small batches. Each candle is made from high quality soy blend wax, phthalate-free fragrance and essential oils, and cotton wicks for a clean burn. Our candles are thoroughly tested to ensure that they smell great and are safe to burn, but please also read our safety tips!
Though we're far from being haiku masters, we hope that our candles and haikus bring joy and tranquility into this busy modern life.
Reducing our footprint
We're donating 5% of all profits to the Ocean Conservancy to invest in science-based solutions that protect our oceans.
Future generations should enjoy our planet's beauty as much as we do. We're committed to reducing our carbon footprint, starting with cutting out all plastic materials in our packaging.
When your candles arrive, your shipping box is fully recyclable and the packaging peanuts and paper wrap is biodegradable.
